and the rest will follow.
So often I have people asking me ‘What is the best way to lose weight? What is the best way to get more energy? What is the best way to optimise my sports performance? What is the best way to sleep better or to de-stress?'
The funny thing is, the answer to all of these things is exactly the same. You should not focus on trying to change any of these things, you should focus on getting healthy and everything else will follow.
After all, there are plenty of unhealthy ways to lose weight; there are plenty of unhealthy ways to sleep better or to improve your sports performance. The problem with all of these, though, is that whilst you may solve one problem, you will often create many others.
No matter what is going on in your body you will benefit from eating a healthy diet, getting some regular well-rounded exercise, thinking some healthy positive thoughts and ensuring there is no interference to your nervous system. If you do all of these things well, then everything else will take care of itself. You will sleep better, have fewer injuries, find a healthy weight and much, much more.
So start changing your goals: rather than focusing on what you want to get rid of focus on what you can do, and start making real, long-lasting changes to your health and your quality of life.
