Now don't worry I am not going to charge you anything. This article is as always free advice to help you get and stay healthy. So what am I on about with this wallet stuff?
Well in my practice I am often seeing people with a twist in their pelvis. This misalignment can cause a whole range of symptoms and problems. The first question people usually ask me when I show them what is going on is, how? ‘How did my spine get so twisted - how has it gotten so bad?'
The answer is usually that there is no single cause. Lots of stressors over the period of a lifetime have added up to cause one big problem. One constant stress to the pelvis for some people, especially in older men, is their wallets. Constantly keeping your wallet, which sometimes may be over an inch thick, in your back pocket it is like a wedge throwing out your pelvis and posture in general.
Your pelvis is to your spine what your foundations are to your house: the base on which everything else is built. If you have a twist in your pelvis, it can not only cause lower back problems, it can cause problems all the way up your spine, even into your neck and head. In fact given the way this spinal distortion can affect not only your spine but your nervous system, it can affect much more than just your back - it can affect your health.
So for the good of your back and the good of your health, get that wallet out! Swap it from your back pocket into the front, and your body will thank you for it.
