Stress is the reason why every single person ends up in our practice. In fact without stress there would be no need for chiropractic. But I am not just talking about emotional stress, I am talking about physical stress and chemical stress as well, and unfortunately in our modern society every single one of us has some form of physical, chemical or emotional stress. In fact most of us have all three.
You see all three types can have the same effect on your body - that is, to switch on the stress response. This stress response has been linked to virtually all of the chronic diseases that are plaguing our society today. Whether it be back pain, strokes, cancers, diabetes and even heart disease, they are all strongly associated with to the stress response. These stressors can also lead to increased back pain, neck pain and headaches as well as any number of other conditions that may see people come into our office.
Through its effects on the nervous system, the chiropractic adjustment can play a vital role in helping your body deal with stress. In fact each adjustment sends signals up to your brain (proprioception) that help to switch off the stress response. This is why many people in our practice notice significant improvements in both their stress levels and their ability to deal with stress once they are under regular care.
You see, your body has a fantastic ability to deal with stress if you just give it a chance. By getting a regular chiropractic adjustment, eating well, thinking well and moving well you can help ensure that your body is in prime condition to deal with whatever stresses you are confronted with. By doing these things you will not only make your body less stressed, you will make it more healthy as well. This often means you will have less symptoms, more energy, better resistance to disease, better sleep and much more.
