Exercise made easy

taking the stairsMany people look at the requirements for ‘how much exercise people need in a day to remain healthy', and decide it all seems a bit much: ‘Where am I going to find the time to do all that?'

Well the good news is that you don't always have to set aside specific time to exercise. In fact much of your exercise requirement can be taken up whilst you are at work, while you are doing the shopping and even when you are catching up with friends. The key is to incorporate your exercise into your activities of daily living (ADL's).

Finding healthy resources

resourcesWhere do you find out about health information? I mean really think about it: where have you learnt most of the health stuff you know? When you truly consider this, you will realise that much of it came from newspapers, TV, advertising, friends/family and the Internet. Are these really the sources you want to rely on for your health? Most people do more thorough research into buying a car than they do into how to look after their bodies.

First thing's first: a disc can't slip. It can wedge, it can bulge, it can protrude or it can herniate, but it can't slip and if it has done one of these things more often than not, chiropractic care can help. In fact research shows that given the risks and limited success rates of surgery, a more conservative form of care, like chiropractic, should always be tried BEFORE going down the surgery route.

So what is a disc?

paleoWe all know that we are becoming a nation, in fact a world, of overweight people. Many people and even scientists have assumed that it is because we are eating more fats. The facts are, though, we are eating the same amounts of fat we always have, and what we are actually eating much more of is carbohydrates: sugars, breads, grains and cereals.
